Legend Groundbreaker Ultimate Off-Road Caravan

The Legend Groundbreaker Ultimate is engineered for serious off-road performance.

At its core is a 150mm A-frame that integrates seamlessly with our over-engineered Legend-Designed S&M truss chassis,

which is Hot-Dipped galvanized for maximum durability and corrosion resistance.

Towing is handled confidently via the Cruisemaster DO45 4500kg hitch, ensuring a secure and robust connection to your vehicle. Suspension is provided by Cruisemaster’s most advanced system — the ATX airbag unit, which features remote-controlled adjustability for optimal ride quality and terrain adaptability. Braking performance is elevated through hydraulically actuated disc brakes, offering superior stopping power in all conditions.

A Blackjack electric jack is permanently mounted on the A-frame to simplify and streamline the hitching process.

All water outlets are shielded against stone damage for increased longevity. Instead of standard PVC connectors, we’ve opted for premium all-brass fittings, demonstrating our commitment to durability and quality.

For added peace of mind, the Groundbreaker includes rated recovery points, a critical feature for off-road recovery situations.

Advanced Construction Technology

All Legend caravans, including the Groundbreaker, are built using a high-tech aluminium frame construction, assembled with the Hanrob self-piercing riveting system. This allows for controlled flexibility under extreme conditions, significantly reducing the risk of structural cracking.

The roof and wall frame components are lock-bolted together and securely attached to the chassis, forming a single cohesive and enduring structure. Unlike traditional spot welding, self-piercing rivets prevent heat distortion issues, as aluminium and its alloys melt below 800°C. These fasteners are also fully compatible with galvanized and coated surfaces, eliminating the need for re-coating or re-plating.

Lockbolts provide nearly 100% bearing area within the locking grooves, compared to just 30–35% with traditional nut-and-bolt connections, which are more susceptible to loosening under vibration.

This enhanced vibration resistance has been proven through the Junker test, which simulates the shear loading from transverse vibration. Lockbolts clearly outperform conventional fastening methods in maintaining preload and integrity.

Premium Insulation and Exterior Finish

Every Legend caravan is built with a single-piece insulated, rot-free lightweight floor and a one-piece fiberglass sandwich roof panel. This roof construction is not only rot-resistant and hail-resistant but also delivers exceptional structural strength, thermal insulation, and acoustic protection.

Exterior cladding consists of composite panels made of aluminium sheets over a polyethylene core. Wall cavities are filled with AIR-CELL Insuliner, a closed-cell, fire-resistant insulation featuring reflective foil for optimal thermal regulation. The inclusion of air pockets within the wall structure enhances the caravan’s R-rating, ensuring comfort in all climates.

Built using advanced cabinet technology, our drawer system features a SPECIAL cabinet profile with minimal opening force, synchronised feather-light glide, and compatibility with three distinct motion technologies. The integrated soft-close function adjusts automatically depending on the chosen system.
