Legend Groundbreaker RME Ultimate Series

The Legend Groundbreaker RME Ultimate is purpose-built for travellers who demand uncompromising off-road capability, advanced engineering, and premium craftsmanship.

At the foundation is a 150mm extended A-frame integrated with the over-engineered Legend-designed S&M truss chassis, hot-dipped galvanised for maximum structural strength, durability, and long-term corrosion resistance. Towing confidence is delivered through the Cruisemaster DO45 4500kg off-road hitch, paired with Cruisemaster’s most advanced ATX airbag suspension system with BCS (Body Control System), ensuring exceptional ride control and adaptability across extreme terrain. Hydraulic disc brakes provide powerful and consistent braking performance in all conditions.

A permanently mounted Blackjack electric jack simplifies hitching and stabilisation, while rated recovery points offer essential support for off-road recovery situations. To further enhance reliability, all plumbing outlets are protected from stone damage and fitted with premium brass fittings, replacing conventional PVC connectors for superior strength and longevity.

Advanced Construction Technology

The Groundbreaker is built using Legend’s high-tensile aluminium frame construction, assembled with the advanced Hanrob self-piercing riveting system. This technology allows the structure to flex under extreme conditions, significantly reducing the risk of fatigue and structural cracking during demanding off-road travel.

Roof and wall frames are lock-bolted and mechanically integrated into the chassis, forming a rigid yet resilient structure. Unlike traditional welding methods, self-piercing rivets eliminate heat distortion and maintain the integrity of aluminium components. The use of high-strength lockbolts ensures superior clamping force and vibration resistance, maintaining structural preload even under severe off-road conditions.

Premium Insulation & Exterior Construction

Every Groundbreaker features a single-piece insulated, rot-proof lightweight floor combined with a one-piece fibreglass sandwich roof, delivering exceptional structural strength, hail resistance, and superior thermal and acoustic insulation.

The exterior is finished with premium aluminium composite panels, while wall cavities are insulated with AIR-CELL Insuliner closed-cell insulation with reflective foil, designed to regulate internal temperatures and maximise comfort in both extreme heat and cold.

The customisable Legend Drawer System reflects modern interior design with clean lines and maximum usability. Featuring straight internal and external drawer sides with a slim 12.8mm profile, it delivers increased internal capacity while integrating seamlessly with any furniture finish.

Built using advanced cabinetry technology, the system offers minimal opening force, synchronised feather-light glide, and compatibility with multiple motion options. An integrated soft-close function self-adjusts based on the selected system for a consistently premium feel.

All Legend Caravans come standard with Solid Surface Premium Acrylic Benchtops, manufactured from high-performance 100% acrylic for durability, hygiene, and a seamless finish.

Expert Plumbing Systems

Legend Caravans’ plumbing is completed by fully qualified tradespeople with over 60 years of combined caravan industry experience. We use the latest technologies and premium brass fittings, and we are proud to be among the first manufacturers to include brass as standard in both hot and cold water connections.

All caravans fitted with gas are fully tested and supplied with a Gas Compliance Certificate. From outdoor kitchen connections to tailored water solutions, our systems are built for reliability, safety, and long service life.

Advanced Electrical Systems – Built for Off-Grid

The Legend Groundbreaker Ultimate Off-Road is equipped with a high-performance electrical platform designed for serious off-grid touring.

Standard inclusions:

• 48V lithium power with a 10.6kWh battery pack (3 × 5kWh modules)
• Victron 48V 5000W inverter with 48V solar regulation (larger vans include a secondary regulator for maximum efficiency)
• High-output DC–DC charging delivering up to 120 amps input for rapid charging while driving
• Premium 200W 48V solar panels, scalable to suit the caravan size and layout (e.g., the 21’6” model features 7 × 200W panels)
