Legend Tycoon Slider – OnRoad Series

The Legend Tycoon Slider OnRoad Series sets a new benchmark in caravan engineering. At its core, a robust 150mm A-frame is seamlessly connected to a meticulously overengineered Legend-designed S&M powder-coated chassis. Towing is handled by the trusted Cruisemaster DO45 hitch, rated to an impressive 4500kg, ensuring stability and safety in all conditions.

Suspension & Braking

Equipped with Cruisemaster’s most advanced independent suspension system, the Tycoon Slider delivers unmatched ride comfort and durability. Stopping power is supplied by high-performance 12-inch electric brakes, providing confident and controlled braking on and off the road.

Plumbing Durability

All water outlets are protected against stone damage for superior longevity. Going beyond industry norms, we’ve eliminated PVC fittings in favor of full brass connections, ensuring greater durability, reliability, and resistance to wear.

Aluminium Frame Construction

Legend Caravans are constructed using a precision-engineered aluminium frame assembled with the Hanrob self-piercing riveting system. This innovative technique allows for controlled flexibility in extreme conditions, minimizing the risk of cracking. Unlike traditional spot welding, this method avoids the heat-related issues associated with aluminium and its alloys, which melt below 800°C.

Our frame components — including roof and walls — are lock-bolted together and directly integrated with the chassis. Lockbolts provide approximately 100% bearing area in the locking grooves, compared to just 30–35% in conventional nut-and-bolt assemblies. This results in a significantly stronger, vibration-resistant structure.

Superior Vibration Resistance

The Tycoon Slider’s lockbolt system outperforms standard bolting methods in resisting loosening under vibration. In tests such as the Junker test — which measures preload loss in bolted joints under transverse vibration — lockbolts consistently demonstrate superior performance, making them ideal for off-road conditions.

Premium Flooring & Roof Construction

Every Legend Caravan features a one-piece, lightweight honeycomb floor — rot-free and structurally sound. The roof is crafted from a single fiberglass sandwich panel, offering exceptional strength, superior insulation (thermal and acoustic), and resistance to hail and water damage.

Composite Exterior Cladding

The exterior is clad in composite aluminium panels featuring an insulating polyethylene core. Internal wall cavities are filled with AIR-CELL Insuliner — a closed-cell, fire-resistant core enveloped in reflective foil, designed to regulate temperature and provide year-round comfort.

Legend Caravans proudly employs fully qualified plumbers with over 60 years of combined industry experience. We are the first manufacturer to use brass fittings for both hot and cold water systems in our caravans, ensuring unmatched durability and reliability.

Our team ensures all plumbing systems are expertly installed and thoroughly tested, including gas systems that are certified and compliant with Australian standards. For added convenience, outdoor kitchens include hot and cold water connections, making setup and use effortless.
